FILM SYNOPSIS

Bemani is a 29 year old Iranian woman, working in a cafe, who came to Australia on a tourist visa to marry with her fiancé, in hopes of escaping a depressing life in Iran. After they met up, the fiancé announced that he was gay and had taken on a male lover. Naturally this makes Bemani’s status in Australia unstable and she is dealing with culture shock but she cannot return and is now deceiving her family into thinking the marriage will go on as planned.

 

Things start to go wrong and the unimaginable problems she has to deal with take a severe tole on Bemani's mental health.
